HURRY TO MISS EARLY MEETINGS in 2008

Former European Grass Track Champion Paul Hurry will miss the opening weeks of the 2008 season as he needs further surgery on his badly broken arm he received in a speedway crash three years ago at Belle Vue, Manchester.
Paul has never really recovered properly, even after several operations on the injured limb, and a crash at Birmingham towards the end of 2007 has caused more damage. It means that he needs further surgery which

will keep him away from racing for the next few months. Paul has retired from speedway and intends to concentrate exclusively on grass and long track where he feels he has a good chance of winning further championship titles.
Paul hopes to be fit for the opening round of the World Championships at the end of May in the Czech Republic. Paul has been granted a Testimonial for 2008 and plans are already going ahead to stage a meeting at his former club Arena Essex.
